I was in a bread shop recently and pursuaded the girl behind the counter to let me take a photograph of this loaf of bread. Just look at the crust on it. As kids we called it the cat’s skin and we’d kill each other for it. I remember when the Ma’ would send me to Boland’s Bakery on Fassaugh Avenue for one of these I’d end up eating a hole right through from one side to the other. Great bread for toasting on the fire or full of home-made blackberry jam.
