This photograph was taken at about 9.30pm one evening last week. The seafront in Bray has certainly changed over the years. For quite a long time it was old and tired looking, in need of a facelift so to speak. In recent years however small changes have taken place. The bandstand and railings have received a new coat of paint. The grass is cut almost daily and not so much littler is left strewn about. Most of the old victorian style houses along the front are still in good condition. I suppose like most seaside places in Ireland today you always get the neglected and derilict shops that have fallen victim to the so called downturn in the economy. But the Bray Fathers are trying their best to make the area family friendly. It’s a beautiful walk along the promenade on a summers evening. It still attracts quite a lot of people, both young and old who like a leisurely stroll as they take in the sea air. And of course there’s all those memories that come flooding back of childhood days with soggy tomatoe sambos and bottles of cold tea, candy floss and ice cream. Sure weren’t they great ould times altogether.
