I came across this worn out/sun bleached Fry’s Cocoa box in a small shop window in County Meath. For me it’s an iconic image of growing up in Dublin/Ireland of the 50s and 60s. The box was yellow in colour and the cocoa was in powder form. You had to put a couple of spoons of cocoa powder into a mug or cup and mix it with a drop of milk and a spoon of sugar. Then you added either boiling milk or water to it. At one time it was highly recommended to people to drink a mug of cocoa before going to bed to help them relax and sleep well.
