‘Even the Sewing Machine is a Singer…’
My sister came across this beautiful work of art about to be dumped into a rubbish skip. It dates to the early 1900s and has all of it’s original pieces kept safe in the little drawer and is still in perfect working order. My older sister worked with one of these machines for many years as a seamstress. With a turn of the wheel, a press of the foot and a whirl of the bobbin she would turn out Wedding Dresses, Holy Commnion outfits, Debs Dresses and stitch up a torn bedsheet or two.
