Save Our Grand…
A great article in tonight’s Evening Herald by Dermot Bolger on the Cabra Grand Picture House. It seems that Dublin City Council have slapped a preservation order on it and declared it a ‘Protected Building’, which in theory means it can’t be demolished. A few years back it almost became an apartment block. Getting a ‘Protected Building’ label on it doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t be knocked down some time in the distant future. It has to be looked after and properly maintained and not allowed to go to rack and ruin and we all know that takes money. So for the moment anyway the good old Cabra Grand is here to stay…
