‘The Jivers…’
‘I remember one time a gang of us were having a session in the Ma’s front parlour. We had amplifiers, Paudie Harte’s full drum kit, microphones, three electric guitars and the whole block of houses shaking from the racket we were making. The next thing is there was a banging on the parlour window and we all thought we were in trouble with the neighbours. I opened the window and this Young One was looking up at me and I said “What do you want, were busy”. Well she smiles at me and says “Can you play a fast song, I want to show me pal how to Jive”. A gang of Young Ones had gathered outside our railings and were dancing all over the place. Gas or what?…
